Scotch Eggs


A traditional British savoury snack : Scotch Egg

A Scotch Egg is a hard-boiled egg, wrapped in a sausage meat mixture, coated in breadcrumbs an deep fried. This dish was invented by the London food shop Fortnum & Mason ( a department store) in 1738.

I tell U, this is a very Delish finger food ! hehehehe

Ingredients
1/2 cup minced pork
1/2 cup BBQ Honey sausage (minced)
( so sad, we cant get raw sausage meat here, but trust me, the above will do)
2 Eggs
1 eggwhite (for coating)
1 T cornflour
1 cup breadcrumbs
salt & pepper

Methods
a. Mix the pork & sausage meat , chopped & minced it.
b. sprinkle with salt & pepper. marinate for at least 1/2 hour in a fridge
c. boiled & unshelled ur eggs
d. coated the eggs with cornflour, then wrapped it with the meat, holding egg shape.
e. dipped in the eggwhite & coated with breadcrumbs.
d. Deep fry until golden brown.

Fortnum and Mason may claim to have invented it, but there is a stronger claim that it was invented in Whitby, Yorkshire by Mrs Scott's Bakery, hence the name which is derived from "Scotts Egg".
